Tribeca Film Festival

Robert de Niro después de los atentados del 11 de septiembre, creó este festival de carácter independiente para recuperar la imagen del barrio de Tribeca situado en el Lower Manhattan, y así atraer de nuevo a los turistas a la ciudad. Pocos años después de su creación es un referente a nivel mundial en cuanto a festivales se refiere.

Robert de Niro after september 11th terrorism attack, created this independent film festival to make up Tribeca neighborhood, located in Lower Manhattan, and attract tourist to the city. Few years after his creation is a festival world reference.

La edición de este año empezó el pasado 21 de abril, y se alargará hasta el próximo 2 de mayo, 12 días para presentar las 85 películas elegidas para este año. La ceremonia inaugural empieza con Shrek Forever After (por si no podéis esperar a ver el trailer) que se estrenará en las salas de USA el próximo 21 de mayo, y para el día de clausura el documental Freakonomics ha sido el afortunado. Todas ellas son presentadas en el Tribeca Cinema en el 54 Varick st., propiedad del mismo Robert de Niro, el cuál compró el clausurado Screening Room convirtiéndolo así en sede del festival.

This year edition started on april 21st, and it will be until may 2nd, 12 days to present 85 films choosen for this year. Inaugural ceremony starts with Shrek Forever wich opened will be on may 21st, for closing ceremony Freakonomics documentary has been fortunate. All of them are showed at Tribeca Cinema in 54 Varick st., Robert de Niro own property, which bought Screening Room and turn on it in head office festival.

Los tickets están a la venta aquí, la venta empezó el 8 de marzo sólo para titulares de targetas American Express, el público en general tuvo que esperar hasta el 15 para poder conseguir alguna de las entradas. Pero si por otro lado dispones de más tiempo y te apetece vivirlo de más cerca, te ofrecen la oportunidad de colaborar como voluntari@.

Tickets are on sale here, sale began on march 8th just American Express holders, general public had to wait until 15th to get some of the tickets. On the other hand if you have time and you want to live it close, they offer you a chance to participate as a volunteer.
